This partnership established us as the exclusive distributors of Dr. Spiller Biomimetic Skincare in Australia and New Zealand, marking the start of our commitment to high-quality, biomimetic skincare.
The OmniDerm Approach & Philosophy

The concept of ‘biomimetics’ was first discussed in the 1950’s by the American biophysicist Otto Schmitt. Applied to and combined with science it is a powerful approach that has led to tremendous innovations in many fields, including high-tech such as aviation and low-tech as found in common household items.
The biomimetic approach to skincare invariably leads to oil-based creams because they are a true replication of the skin’s hydro-lipidic barrier. It comes as a surprise to many that oil-based creams are not only suitable for dry skins but are a superior solution for oily skin, and in fact for some types of acneic skin.
The OmniDerm Concept
We focus on a holistic approach to skincare that supports the skin’s natural processes rather than imposing on them. Our focus has always been about supporting the skin’s hydro-lipidic barrier, maintaining healthy hydration levels and avoiding any substances that cause irritation or inflammation. This concept is built around two core components: Correct with herbs2peel® and Protect with Dr. Spiller®.
Correct
herbs2peel® represents our corrective range, designed to naturally and effectively address skin imperfections without relying on invasive apparatus or harsh chemicals. This modern approach to skin correction leverages the power of natural herbs, which are massaged into the skin with specially formulated, nature-based preparations. The treatments are customisable, allowing for tailored solutions based on individual skin types and conditions.
Corrective treatments, by nature, involve some level of trauma. However, herbs2peel® is crafted to minimise this impact, focusing on reducing acute inflammation and ensuring the integrity of the skin’s barrier is maintained. The goal is to correct skin issues without compromising its long-term health.
Protect
Dr. Spiller® forms the protective arm of our skincare philosophy. Unlike conventional water-based skincare, our biomimetic lipid-based products are designed to offer a distinct advantage in the skincare space. These products are pivotal in repairing and maintaining the hydro-lipidic barrier, which is crucial for healthy and balanced skin.
Dr. Spiller®’s preservation range may seem understated, but it plays a vital role in achieving skin homeostasis. Research Driven History
Our philosophy and our ‘first do no harm’ approach to skincare have been shaped by our CEO and founder Paul Fister, with guidance from dermatologists and experts from Germany.
Passionate about empowering and educating skin professionals, Paul went on to obtain qualifications in cosmetic formulation and continues to actively research latest trends in skin care and the chemistry of skin care products.
His research, education papers and articles have been published in industry magazines. His early writings on skin hydration, the importance of the skin’s hydro-lipidic barrier and the damage caused by sub-clinical inflammation are now gaining industry-wide acceptance.
