Too often these days the preferred approach is to 'force' the skin to do whatever we want. In the long term our body will always rebel against this.

The Golden Rule

We should be gentle with our skin - our creams and treatments should not interfere unnecessarily with its natural functions. The National Institutes of Health in the USA have started to proclaim the benefits of peptides for skin renewal.

Peptides signal cells to start the enzymatic process of renewal. By contrast, acids are designed to damage cells and thereby force the body into a healing reaction.

In particular, we aim to minimise the use of damaging synthetic ingredients, such as emulsifiers, preservatives and other aggressive substances. Emulsifiers with a high HBL-value interfere with the acid mantle. Strong preseveration interferes with the skin's natural flora. Both ingredients are inherent to any skin care cream. Their potency needs to be significantly higher in the widely used water-based products, compared to an oil-based cream.
